Do you live to work or work to live?
Live to work. Been working on my career for whole life!

When you were a kid, what did you imagine you would be when you “grew up?”
I wanted to be an astronaut.

What is the worst job you’ve ever had?
I helped on my grrampa’s farm when i was a teen. Turned out to be allergic to hay! Worst experience ever.

Working with family, good idea or bad idea?
Bad idea. Parents divorced after working together!

What was the first job you ever had?
    Probably that farm job.

What’s better, working with people who are competent, but mean, or working with people who are incompetent, but fun to work with?

If you could work for any organization, which one would it be and why?

    1. Do you live to work or work to live?
Most of the time, I work to live. But I do love my work!

    2. When you were a kid, what did you imagine you would be when you “grew up?” I absolutely wanted to be a medical doctor, from Kindergarten until Gr. 12! But then at about 18, I realized I couldn’t stomach the sight of blood or injury anymore.

    3. What is the worst job you’ve ever had? I had a job as a “caller” that would let people who had entered a raffle at a fair know they had “won.” The boss basically lied to the new staff AND to all the winners. Winners would be told that to get their prize, they just needed to watch a “brief” demo of the company’s product. I was told that the demo was half an hour, but learned from another staffer that the demo was actually THREE HOURS! But the staffers were told to lie to new staff and to the winners. I lasted my first four-hour shift, then quit. =(

    4. Working with family, good idea or bad idea? I’ve worked with family. I think it’s great!

    5. What was the first job you ever had?
McDonald’s – absolutely fantastic experience. Learned a lot and worked with amazing people, including said family mentioned above. <3

    6. What's better, working with people who are competent, but mean, or working with people who are incompetent, but fun to work with? I think I would rather work with incompetent people because you can usually train people to learn the skills needed for a job. Much harder to teach how to be "pleasant."

    7. If you could work for any organization, which one would it be and why? I am totally biased, of course, but I would work for Sweet Careers. If I could afford to do this full time, I would.

    8. Do you have any skills/abilities that your friends or coworkers would be surprised you have? This isn't, in my case, an employable skill, but I won a "dance off" at a dance when I was a teen. If you want the details, just ask. =)

    9. What is your least favorite interview question to answer? Those "If you were a ______, what would it be?" questions just seem odd. I know how to answer them, they're just not my favorite to answer.

    10. What, if any, job would you do even if you didn't get paid? Sweet Careers, helping students and new grads - if I could afford to make all our offerings free, I would. It's the best job in the world! <3
